Intellectual birthday competitions - for children, teenagers, adults

Our customers choose intellectual games quite often, so I decided to make a convenient table where all the offers will be collected together. A brief description of the programs, the necessary conditions for holding the games and the price are sufficient information for discussion in the team. For details, contact the managers!

What events are intellectual games suitable for:

  • calendar holidays (New Year, February 23, March 8)
  • Company day or professional holiday
  • indoor team building
  • summer team building (if you need an alternative to active games and sports competitions)
  • anniversary or wedding anniversary
  • conferences and seminars (as an additional team-building program)

"Learn the proverb"

A letter puzzle is a fun activity that also stimulates the development of children’s intelligence and attentiveness. The two teams are shown the recording and it is clarified that this is an encrypted proverb. The team that gives the correct answer first wins. Important! The record is a set of letters – small and large. The proverb is easy to decipher. It is enough to read the large letters first, and then the small ones. For example, “Who doesn’t work, doesn’t eat.” Please note that this type of ciphers can be taken in large quantities. Then the competition is held in several stages, and ultimately the team that earns the most points wins.

How to choose games and competitions to entertain guests - tips

A wedding is the most joyful day in the life of the bride and groom, a holiday that began at the registry office with a ceremonial registration and continued at the banquet.

To prevent the celebration from turning into a continuous, continuous feast, you need to think through a full-fledged entertainment program. Quizzes, games, and wedding competitions for guests are designed so that they:

  • could captivate everyone present;
  • alternated with congratulations;
  • emphasized the theme chosen for the holiday;
  • did not tire the participants too much.

Vulgar and rude jokes are excluded. Even dress-up competitions must strictly comply with established rules and not offend the dignity of those invited and participants in the game. The presenter will have to not only announce congratulations or the next competitions - he must show his intelligence, and not just banally congratulate the newlyweds, but give each guest the opportunity to express their wishes and give what is planned.

The toastmaster carefully observes the guests and everything that happens at the wedding.

When conducting games, the host tries not to involve in the fun those who have not calculated their strength and got drunk, taking into account the desire of each of the invitees to have fun from the heart.

If something does not go as planned, it is important to redirect the attention of the guests in time, using original jokes, practical jokes, and unusual questions.

It is unlikely that you will be able to avoid unforeseen situations on such a day, but you can reduce the risk of their occurrence by preparing a celebration scenario in advance. A noisy celebration dedicated to the family’s birthday begins immediately after the wedding and a walk through memorable places.

What is happening will not only remain in the memory - all the most interesting and funny moments of the holiday will be recorded on video and saved in numerous photographs.

The script includes:

  1. Live scenes with the participation of men, ladies, newlyweds, children present at the holiday.
  2. Funny pranks.
  3. Lottery.
  4. Dancing.
  5. Competitions between teams consisting of representatives of youth and older generations.
  6. Competitions for reciters who will have to read unknown poems written in advance by the presenter in the best and most expressive way.

When working on the script, you need to make sure that all prepared competitions, tasks, practical jokes and skits alternate with congratulations and toasts. Guests should eat quietly, chat with each other, and get to know those they are seeing for the first time.

The newlyweds and witnesses take part in the preparation of some numbers, but the program will also include jokes that the newlyweds should not know about. Creativity is the basis of success.

"Guess"

Competition for two teams. By lot, each of them selects one participant who will have to draw out a note with a riddle, guess it and demonstrate the corresponding word with only gestures and facial expressions. Riddles/questions can be different, here are just a few examples: 1. Which city in the Russian Federation is the angriest (the answer is the city of Grozny). 2. What kind of water can be transported using a sieve (frozen). 3. Why does the plane fly (the answer is in the sky). 4. Baby hen (chick). The fate of the team will depend not only on whether its members can guess what their friend is demonstrating to them, but also on whether he correctly solved the riddle and answered a certain question.

Task 6. Homes of literary heroes

Fragments are read aloud. In written answers you must indicate the author, title, and character. Rating: author, title – 0.5 points, hero – 0.5 points.

Other fragments of this task are taken from the following works:

Depending on the time, this task can also be carried out orally, reading aloud all the above episodes, but addressing each to only one team in turn.

"True story"

The presenter hands the teams (guests are pre-divided into two teams) identical texts that contain logical errors. The participants' task is to correct them and then read aloud the finished version of the true story. The winner is the team that manages to correct all the mistakes (rechecked by the presenter). If no one succeeds, each receives a fine. One missed mistake – one task from the presenter or birthday boy. Example text: “In the summer, 3 grandchildren, Fedya, Sasha and their cat Vasya came to visit their grandmother (there were 2 grandchildren). Every day they went to the garden, where there were 6 branches on 8 birch branches, on which 2 apples grew (apples do not grow on birch trees). In the evening, the children played with a wheel, each corner of which was bright, one was red, the other was green, the third was yellow (the wheel has no corners). Before going to bed, the boys begged their grandmother for the plums she had collected for compote. She could not refuse them. Fedya and Sasha ate all the fruits, there was absolutely nothing left of them (the seeds of the plums remain).”

"Walking Dictionaries"

Two teams are given identical playing fields of 10 cells vertically and up to 10 cells horizontally. Each participant takes turns filling out the table with words that simultaneously contain the particle “TOK” (any other particle can be used). The winner is the team that fills the entire playing field faster than its opponents. In this case, it is important to comply with this condition - write nouns in the nominative case, in the singular. With the particle current, you can, for example, write the words “outflow”, “inflow”, “flow”, “sip”, “handkerchief”, etc.

"Say no, no and yes"

A game in which participants need to show attentiveness and intelligence. The host takes turns addressing the guests of the holiday party, asking them questions that they would usually answer with “Yes” or “No” or “I don’t know.” However, their use is prohibited. Players need to come up with alternative answers in 3 seconds (the host counts to three). The competition is held at a fast pace. Anyone who cannot come up with an answer for a long time or accidentally says “Yes”, “No”, “I don’t know” is eliminated (alternatively, he draws a forfeit and completes the task). Important! The game can be made more difficult, for example, by asking questions out of order. However, the same participant cannot be asked more than 2 questions in a row.

Creative evening by Dmitry Krylov and your “unlucky notes”

A very interesting idea for an unusual corporate event.
Yes, no one sings or dances. The bass does not thunder, stage smoke does not pour out of all the cracks. Communication with a great TV presenter who has visited almost every country in the world. Quiz, photo session, questions and answers. These will be your joint “unlucky notes” that you will remember for many, many years to come. Read more.

"Flight of Time"

The 2 in 1 game is both intellectual and active. It will require several bells, which the presenter places on the table. The participants stand at a distance of 10-15 steps. Their task is to count down 55 seconds to themselves, at the command of the presenter, and then another 5, during which they need to get to the table and ring the bell. The presenter, focusing on the stopwatch, determines which player completed the task best. As practice shows, rarely does anyone manage to correctly count exactly one minute on their own, and the “moving” part of the competition only complicates the task.

Task 8. Musical (written)

Score: maximum 2 points for each correct complete answer: give the name and author of the literary source.

Small musical fragments are heard in the recording (video):

This competition turned out to be the most difficult, despite the textbook works chosen. Each piece of music is written based on an existing literary plot known to schoolchildren.

"Let's remember everything"

Several couples take part in the competition. The players stand with their backs to each other, and after that the host explains the rules to them. Participants need to take turns answering each other’s questions. Questions will concern the appearance and clothing of teenagers. The presenter starts with the simplest ones, for example, with a question about hair color, and ends with more complex ones (about eye color, length of dress, skirt, height of trousers, and so on). Each correct answer earns the team a point. The winner is the couple who will have the most points in their account at the end of the competition. Important! As soon as the presenter begins to explain the rules of the game, the participants are prohibited from turning around or looking at each other.

Table leisure

There are good competitions that can be held at the table.

"Compliments"

This competition has many variations. For example, guests can simply compliment the bride, groom, or both newlyweds. To make things more complicated, you can only compliment a certain letter - for example, complimenting a bride on the letter with which her name begins.

“Folk wisdom” and “synonyms”

In the first, the host begins a proverb or saying related to family or wedding, and the guests must complete the phrase. In the second, one word is selected (usually a verb), and others are asked to name as many synonyms for this word as possible.

"Pass"

Holiday party guests stand in a circle. First, one of them is chosen as a counting counter; according to the rules, he must start counting. The count is carried out clockwise, guided by this rule - instead of certain numbers they say “pass”. What these numbers will be should be agreed upon in advance. This could be, for example, a prime number, and then all that contain it (like 3, 13, 23, 30, etc.). A more complex option is numbers that are multiples of a certain number (if it is 5, then skip 10, 15, 20, 25, etc.). Anyone who fails is eliminated. The competition continues on this principle until one or more winners are determined.

"Super memory"

Participants in this intellectual competition take turns listening to the presenter name different numbers. Their task is to repeat them in the order in which they were spoken. The competition takes place in several rounds, in each round the presenter names new numbers and, importantly, one more number than the previous time (and they start with 3 numbers). As this game progresses, many participants will drop out. The party guest who manages to remember the most numbers wins.

What else?

The “Holiday Again” website contains a lot of ideas for holding corporate and private events. The table with intellectual programs can be completely supplemented with quests.

Quests

We have off-site and stationary quest rooms, quest tournaments with a buffet table, real-life quests outdoors and indoors, role-playing (personal) games, city and park quests.
Here are interactive quests and quests in reality.

"Give me a hint"

A game for several pairs of participants. One player pulls out a note, reads the word that he got and gives his friend just one hint indicating what he got (the hint can even be an association word, but the main thing is not a synonym). This competition is held at a fast pace, with the players changing roles (first one makes a guess, then the other). Each correct answer earns the team 1 point. The pair that gets the most points in 5 minutes wins.

turnip

Number of players: any

Additional: no

Sketch game. The participants are the presenter, seven player characters and spectators. The presenter distributes roles:

The 1st player will be the turnip. When the leader says the word “turnip” (turnip, ...), the player must say “both-on”

The 2nd player will be the grandfather. When the presenter says the word “grandfather,” the player must say “would kill.”

The 3rd player will be grandma. When the presenter says the word “grandmother,” the player must say “oh-oh.”

The 4th player will be the granddaughter. When the presenter says the word “granddaughter” (granddaughter, ...), the player must say “I’m not ready yet.”

The 5th player will be the Bug (dog). When the presenter says the word “Bug,” the player must say “woof-woof.”

The 6th player will be the cat. When the leader says the word "cat", the player must say "meow-meow".

The 7th player will be the mouse. When the presenter says the word “mouse,” the player must say “pee-pee.”

The game begins. The presenter tells the fairy tale “Turnip”, the participants voice:

Grandfather planted (2nd player - would kill) a turnip (1st player - both). The turnip grew (1st player - both of them) very big. The grandfather came (2nd player - would kill) to pull the turnip (1st player - both), pulls and pulls, but cannot pull it out. The grandfather (2nd player - would have killed) called the grandmother (3rd player - oh-oh). Grandma (3rd player - oh-oh) for grandfather (2nd player - would kill), grandfather (2nd player - would kill) for the turnip (1st player - both-on), pull-pull, They can’t pull it out. And so on.

"Endless Rhyme"

A great table game that doesn't require any props. The host calls out one word, and after it, all the guests of the holiday party take turns calling out their version of the rhyme. The one who cannot come up with anything or repeats what has already been said earlier is eliminated. Important! Please note that only singular nouns can be named. Example: luggage - mirage - garage - landscape - stained glass - circulation and so on. The game continues according to this principle until one winner is determined, the main intellectual - the rhymer.
