The world of Harry Potter beckons with its magic, and of course, many admirers of the works of JK Rowling (author of the Harry Potter books) strive to at least indirectly become part of the magical universe. Fans are actively buying all parts of books about a boy with a scar in the form of a lightning bolt on his forehead, and also purchasing things that are visually similar to those that appeared in the Potter film series. Previously, we have already published a review dedicated to such gifts, we recommend you study them, but today we want to present to your attention gifts from the world of Harry Potter made with our own hands.
I made my wife a Harry Potter bowl that is full of our happiest memories.
As our wedding date approached, I racked my brain wondering what I could give her. Since we are both Harry Potter fans, I looked to the wizarding world for inspiration and decided to make a cup from the movie . For those who haven't watched Harry Potter, the cup was used by Dumbledore , he pulled out memories with a magic wand and stored them in bottles.

Harry Potter's room under the stairs
When librarian Courtney Bonnett moved into her new home last June, she knew exactly what to do with the closet under the stairs. Inspired by the Harry Potter , she transformed the tiny room into "Wizards Only" space for her children.
"I've been a huge Harry Potter fan for a long time, and I knew as soon as I saw this place that I would turn it into a Harry Potter room," Bonnet said. “It took me about 8 days and cost $250-300 . "I had a bunch of Harry Potter stuff that found its way into the new room."

Fairytale paraphernalia from the world of Harry Potter
Things used by their favorite hero - a suitcase, various potions, a magic wand, a Snitch and others - will help enhance the effect of a child's presence in the world of wizards. You can create an entire costume, and it will take little time if you have the right experience, skills and patience.
Costume
It includes a robe with an emblem, glasses, a tie and/or scarf, and a magic wand. The most difficult thing is to make a mantle with your own hands. To do this, you need experience in sewing at least simple clothes, sewing accessories, and a machine with at least simple functions. It is better to choose a material without the effect of shedding of raw cuts, dense, with a matte front side.
Calculating a pattern will not be difficult for experienced craftswomen, but for beginners it is better to use ready-made templates.
All details are cut out in two copies - black and red. The red parts are the lining of the product.
Assembling the mantle begins with connecting the main parts - front and back, sleeves. First, the shoulder seams are sewn, then the sleeve is sewn on, and the side seams are sewn. The last stage of assembly is the hood. The lining is assembled using the same principle. Then the elements are connected - folded with the right sides inward, stitched along the contour along the edges of the shelves and hood, turned inside out, folded, stitched, and the bottom of the sleeves is also connected. In the neck area, a seam is laid “from the face” - it will prevent the robe from peeling when worn. At a distance of 0.5 cm along the edge of the mantle and its sleeves on the front side, a finishing seam is made.
Video tutorial:
The robe must have the emblem of the Hogwarts school, with the image of the coat of arms of Harry Potter's house - Gryffindor. The easiest option is to buy it at a specialized craft store, but you can do it yourself, using a ready-made stencil as a basis.
The Gryffindor emblem can be cut out of cardboard or embroidered. The method of attaching it to the mantle depends on what material it is made of - glue or a hidden hand stitch.
In addition to the robe, to complete the look you will need a tie or scarf in certain colors - burgundy or rich brown with yellow stripes. Models in this color scheme can be bought or borrowed from your dad or grandfather’s wardrobe. Another option is a cardboard tie. It will take a minimum of time to create.
Glasses are a must. The shape is round, the frame is dark. Craftswomen make them with their own hands from ordinary copper wire, which retains its shape well. Such a Harry Potter-themed craft does not have to have lenses - it’s enough to complement the image with it, emphasizing the similarities.
The stick is made from any wooden base - a sushi stick, a dry, even twig at least 25 cm long. The workpiece must be cleaned with fine sandpaper, a “pattern” applied to it using a glue gun, painted, trying to achieve an aging effect, and varnished.
Letter from Hogwarts
Any child would be pleased to receive a letter from a real school of magic. You can “write” and “send” it to any significant date in the life of a Harry Potter fan.
To create it you will need aged paper and sealing wax. We age the paper with our own hands, and sealing wax can be replaced with ordinary wax or paraffin.
Tea leaves or coffee will help to age the paper. Dip the sheet into the solution, remove it, and dry it naturally.
We write the letter before we process the paper. We choose ink that is moisture-resistant so that it does not bleed, or a simple pencil with a soft, greasy lead.
We make the envelope from thick, rough gray paper. It can be of any shape; there is no need to glue it together. An envelope of an unusual shape, wrapped in twine, with a real wax seal will look original.
Suitcase
Any large packaging box will do to create this accessory. It can be white or gray - the color doesn't matter. The base can be painted. After drying, its surface is slightly deformed and becomes more similar to the original.
On a prepared piece of cardboard we draw a stencil of the future suitcase. You can paint it immediately or after the product is folded and glued.
The handle and “locks” can be cut from the same cardboard or dense elastic leatherette. We glue them to the suitcase with any adhesive that can withstand the weight of the box.
The last step is decor. In this regard, there are no limits to your imagination.
If you have a capacious box with a hinged lid on hand, the work will take even less time.
Potion collection
We will put magic paraphernalia in the suitcase. It can be not only a wand, but also a whole collection of potions created with your own hands.
Any transparent glass bottles will work. For each of them, we cut out corks from old wine corks and draw stickers.
Pour colorful liquid inside the bottles. To color it, we use any dyes that do not settle. These can be paints for painting, food compositions. You can simply put the collection in a suitcase or in a special box.
How to make a snitch
Harry Potter was an excellent Quidditch player, and the Snitch, as an attribute of this game, has become no less popular among the series of crafts on the theme of the legendary saga of wizards than others.
You can make a snitch with your own hands from different materials and using different handicraft techniques. You can use any objects as a base - from a tennis ball to a Christmas tree decoration.
The easiest way is to create a fabulous accessory from a foam ball. The first step is painting. This can be done using paint in a spray can. To avoid getting your hands dirty, place the ball on a stand made from a regular paper clip.
You need to paint polystyrene foam carefully, in several stages, applying paint layer by layer, waiting for each of them to dry completely. You need to start with yellow color, and the final layer is golden paint with a shimmering and reflective effect. The effect can be enhanced by covering the ball with glitter or sequins.
We will make the wings from ordinary white feathers. We simply stick them into the base.
Experienced craftswomen can take a more difficult route - take 2 tennis balls as a basis. In addition to them you will need:
- thick strong threads or soft wire (wires);
- sharp stationery knife;
- highly durable glue, wire cutters;
- bronze paint, brushes for applying it;
- lids from plastic jars or cups;
- two large plastic beads.
The work ahead is painstaking, and, in addition to materials and tools, you need to be patient. The result is worth it.

How to make a wax seal for a letter from Hogwarts
And now the most important question: how to make a stamp for a letter from Hogwarts? You have already prepared sealing wax and ceramic mass. And first you need to make the appropriate seal for the imprint. Look carefully at what the Hogwarts seal looks like and try to make one from the mass. Then leave it so the mold has time to dry.
If you have sealing wax in the form of a neat ingot, simply hold it over the envelope, and with your other hand, light the lighter and begin to melt the material. It will drip onto the paper. Without waiting for it to dry, make a print.

I couldn't find Harry Potter's wand so I made it myself for my sister
My sister, like many people of her generation, is a big Harry Potter fan. She was one of those children who ran to the bookstore when a new book came out.
I decided she needed her own magic wand. Unfortunately, I ran into a few problems: first , I wanted her wand to be unique. Secondly , most of the sticks I found weren't even made of wood and didn't have a core.
Since the internet didn't help me, I decided that I needed to make a wand that was not only made of natural wood, but had a core and was unique and meaningful to her. As you can see below, I got a little carried away...

Ministry of Magic Vinyl Sticker
One of J. K. Rowling's most surprising twists in the world of Harry Potter was access to the Ministry of Magic through a flushed toilet. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get into the magical Parliament through the office toilets, but you can add a bit of humor to your own bathroom with these vinyl stickers. We would call it “what to give to a person who has everything except taste.”
The artist pays tribute to Scotland and Harry Potter with a sculpture from the book
The Glenfinnan Viaduct was built in Scotland and opened in 1901 , but became world famous thanks to its appearance in the Harry Potter film. Thomas Whiteman took an antique book and a cut-out bridge from its pages, complete with a tiny, tangled train. A mountainous landscape breaks out from the layered background, with spindly trees surrounded by scattered letters of the alphabet like fallen leaves that form the basis of the country's unique cultural passage from past to future.

Amulet bracelet with Dobby
We all know that without Dobby the house elf, Harry Potter might have been a dead man in Bellatrix Lestrange's creepy estate. What better way to pay homage to cinema's most annoying character, other than maybe Jar Jar Binks, than by hanging it on a loved one's wrist? Dobby isn't the only talisman there is; you can, for example, buy a Ministry of Magic coin or a Sorting Hat.

Knitted jumper with the letter "X"
Are you Howard, Harry, Harold or Hugh? Do you know Howard, Harry, Harold or Hugh? In any case, you can buy this jumper and wear it to work, or to the store for milk. Just don't say that this sweater is from the official Harry Potter store if you value your image. If not, then go ahead and wear it with pride. We will be happy for you!
"Don't worry, I fixed it"
Kids are pretty tough. If I had jumped off a pile of laundry and landed on my head, I would likely have ended up in the hospital. But when 4-year-old Aiden Benesh from Vallejo, California did it, he was left with only a cut on his head. But the next day the little daredevil was in a terrible mood and did not want to leave the house. His mother Brittany was not at a loss and came up with an amazing idea. She decided to turn him into Harry Potter.
She turned the cut into a zipper and glasses completed the look. Brittany has not seen such a happy son for a long time...

Lamp with the Hogwarts coat of arms
If you're like me, you've obviously sat up until the early hours of the morning, flipping through page after page. Alas, none of us pathetic Muggles can cast a Lumos spell to fill a bedroom with divine light, but there is an acrylic lamp engraved with the Hogwarts crest - and it is incredibly charming. And this is without mentioning that the conditions for reading will include good lighting.
Subtleties of wax seal production
But when your sealing wax is a sloppy lump, you will need to melt it on the stove. It's not difficult, but it will take some time. Crumble sealing wax into an iron can, for example a tea can, and place on low heat, stirring constantly. Do not bring to a boil. The consistency should not be too liquid or thick, all lumps should be melted. Using pliers, remove the jar from the heat.
Using a spoon, pour melted sealing wax onto the envelope and make an impression. The remaining material in the jar will harden and will be stored like this until next time.
