Festival "Journey to Christmas"

The Journey to Christmas festival is the main New Year's holiday in the capital; this year it takes place from December 13 to January 12, 2021. In total, 40 Christmas venues will be organized in the capital, and the center of the holiday will be Manezhnaya and Red Squares, New Arbat Street.

Muscovites and tourists will be able to attend more than 1.5 thousand concerts and theatrical performances. They will be able to take part in a variety of master classes.

Christmas venues will be open on weekdays from 11:00 to 21:00, on weekends and holidays from 10:00 to 22:00.

Guests of the festival will get acquainted with New Year's traditions from different countries of the world: Russia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Austria, Germany and France. Each festival site will become a kaleidoscope of traditions of the countries represented.

• On Manezhnaya Square, Czech glassblowers will demonstrate their skills, and artists from Alsace will help you make French Christmas wreaths.

Competition “Sudden horoscope for next year”

Each of the guests writes on his piece of paper any 5 words that come to his mind. When everyone has written their words and put down their pens, the presenter explains the rules: you need to, taking as a basis the written words from your neighbor on the right, draw up a horoscope for the coming year for your neighbor on the left, clockwise, in a circle. This way everyone will know what awaits them in the new year and everyone will laugh heartily.

Competition "Toasts by alphabet"

During one of the pauses, the presenter takes the floor and reminds everyone present that the New Year’s celebration is just beginning, but it’s already difficult to remember the alphabet. In this connection, the presenter suggests filling glasses and raising a toast to the New Year, but strictly in alphabetical order.

Each guest must make a short toast to his letter of the alphabet. The first one starts with the letter a, the second one should start with the letter b, and so on. Toasts should be simple:

The host invites the guests to congratulate each other and say a big and beautiful toast - and waves a postcard on which he has already written a congratulation. Only he didn’t have enough adjectives, and the guests must suggest them. Everyone randomly offers adjectives related to winter, New Year and holiday, and the presenter writes them down and then reads out the result - the text turns out to be very funny!

Competition “News from the New Year”

A great competition that you can play without leaving the table.

The presenter will need to prepare cards on which unrelated words and concepts will be written - five or six words, no more needed. Each participant receives a card and must quickly come up with the hottest news from the New Year's issue, using all the words from the card. What to write on cards? Any set of words.
