During the warm season, our customers often ask to hold a program in the park, in the yard or in the country. For some time now, we have been asking 5 mandatory questions before the holiday to be sure of a good result.
Question 1: Do you have a backup plan if it rains?
A room in which the holiday can be held in case of bad weather must be prepared. If you are organizing the holiday yourself, it is quite easy to postpone the gathering of guests by a couple of hours or even a couple of days. In the event that animators are invited, leading master classes or interactive programs, changes are much more difficult to make.
Question 2: How many guests will there be?
Sometimes there is a lot of extraneous noise on the street, and it’s hard to hear the animators even when you gather 20 children. Street festivals usually attract many more guests. In this case, the animators must be equipped with microphones and other sound equipment to make it really fun.
We recommend inviting 3 animators if there are more than 20 guests. This is especially important if you gather children of different ages.
Question 3: Where exactly do you want to host the entertainment?
Animators bring a lot of props with them in large bags and sacks. All this needs to be placed in close proximity to the venue of the holiday, because during the program there is no time for long trips for labyrinths, bags and pins.
Not suitable: a dusty road, wet ground, a very open place with hot asphalt, a clearing with tall grass, a forest area with twigs and snags, a country landscape with flower beds and beds. It is difficult to organize a birthday party for 10 people in the courtyard of an apartment building, when many outside spectators gather, in a crowded park. You can’t list everything, but the essence is clear: children should be comfortable and cozy!
It is better to choose: a dry clearing with clipped grass, a quiet corner of a city park, a small enclosed courtyard of a private house or recreation center. In hot weather, be sure to take care of a shady gazebo.
Question 4: Will you take drinking water with you?
Yes, we ask this question to prevent heavy sighs from children who are always thirsty after active outdoor play. If you don’t think through this moment, a birthday party on the street turns into torture within 20-30 minutes.
Question 5: What clothes will the children wear?
Be sure to tell your parents what program you have chosen for the holiday. If there are a lot of active competitions, all children should wear light T-shirts and shorts. Most often, troubles happen at graduations in kindergartens and elementary schools, but some girls also come to birthdays in long, chic, floor-length dresses. Rhinestones fall off, frills tear. Synthetic fabric rubs against the girls' sweaty backs.
We also have programs for princesses. Everything there is orderly and beautiful, no one is running anywhere or crawling on their knees. For example, “Quest for Princesses”.
If you choose “Fort Boyard”, “Pirate Adventures” or this scenario with competitions for a summer birthday, all the princesses will stand on the sidelines with envy to save the rhinestones.
What's the best way to organize an outdoor birthday party?
I’ll give you a few ideas that will help you decide on the program, and a couple of tips from experience to warn you against the most common mistakes.
Designate a holiday area
This is especially important if you have chosen a clearing in a park or other public place. Stretch ribbons with bright flags from tree to tree, and hang ready-made large paper decorations directly to the branches. If this is an open place, you can put several “fountains” of helium balloons in the corners or simply stick sticks that limit the playing area with multi-colored ribbons.
This is necessary both for the children themselves, who find themselves at the holiday (let there be a conditional boundary “do not run further”), and for other visitors to the park, who will not be too close, realizing that a festive event is taking place here.
Technical aspects of the organization
So, the place has been chosen, the menu has been drawn up. What's next? Next, you need to think through all the important moments that will arise one way or another during the celebration, and prepare for them.
- The first thing you should do is discuss with your child the number of guests, make and send out (or hand over) invitations. In the invitations, you can also indicate your wishes regarding the form of clothing, as well as what you need to take with you: a sun hat, a warm jacket, socks, raincoats, etc. Don’t forget to indicate the collection point if you are taking the children in an organized manner, or attach a map if the parents must take the children to the place.
- Then, be sure to find out and write down the phone numbers of the parents of all guests. Discuss all safety and transportation issues with them in advance.
- Prepare the venue for the party. It makes sense to go there in advance to inspect everything and remove any trash that may be left there from previous vacationers. It would also be good to send one adult there on the day of the holiday - to prepare everything for the arrival of the kids. Arrange tables, chairs, pull up awnings or assemble tents, hang up balloons.
- Think over the holiday scenario and competitions with which you will entertain the children. Prepare balls, badminton and everything else you might need for outdoor games.
- Take care of the dishes. Now they are selling beautiful colorful sets that include everything you need for an outdoor party - cups, plates, forks, spoons and even tablecloths. Be sure to buy plenty of napkins and paper towels.
- Pack a first aid kit. Its contents should include various first aid products for cuts, burns and scratches, as well as protective products against the sun and forest insects.
- Make sure you have enough water to wash your hands, wash your face, etc.
Organization of overnight stay
If your children's holiday in nature is not just a picnic, but a full-fledged overnight trip, then you need to take care of some additional points:
- There should be a lot of food and it should be even less perishable: for example, cookies, cheese sandwiches, fruit (apples are best), etc. These will be snacks between main meals, cooked, of course, over a fire.
- The fire needs to burn for a very long time, so stock up on plenty of wood in advance.
- Make sure that all children have enough space in tents and sleeping bags. It’s better to try setting up your tents in advance to avoid any embarrassment later.
Decor
To decorate a holiday in nature, everything that can be bought for such an occasion in specialized stores or even just in supermarkets is suitable: bright tablecloths, colorful disposable tableware, various garlands and balloons that can be hung on trees or decorated with awnings and tents.
A special case if the event is themed. For example, for a pirate holiday it is worth hanging the appropriate flags, laying out compasses, etc. In general, let your imagination run wild here - as long as the design is festive and evokes delight and positive emotions in the children.
Musical accompaniment
Of course, what is a holiday without music? Be sure to take care of the musical accompaniment. Bring a battery-powered record player with you, and make a playlist at home in advance. Include both calm compositions (for background during meals) and cheerful, lively songs for dances and competitions.
If your vacation is overnight, take your guitar with you. It doesn’t matter if you only know how to play “a grasshopper was sitting in the grass” - evening gatherings around the fire with a guitar will not leave any of the guests indifferent.
Location
You can choose from several options for the place where you and your children will relax:
- A city park, the main advantage of which is that you don’t need to travel outside the city, which means you don’t have to deal with issues related to transporting children. However, if your event is scheduled for a weekend, then there is a chance that all the best places in the park will be occupied.
- Country house. An excellent option, as it combines nature and all the necessary living conditions. An additional plus is the ability to shelter from bad weather.
- Forest Glade. This is also a good option, however, it must be inspected by you for the presence of dangerous objects (for example, broken glass) before the kids arrive. In addition, you will need to take care of shelter from sudden rain (this could be an ordinary tourist tent) and transportation of guests.
- Tourist base outside the city. A place where you will be provided with all the conditions for a comfortable stay in nature with children - gazebos, benches, kitchen, water, etc. The only thing is that you will have to spend money on all this plus transportation of children.
Security
Safety is the main priority when organizing a children's party in nature. Be sure to go to your chosen location in advance. Make sure there is no risk to children's safety. See if someone left dangerous objects there. Check for places where you can hide from the rain and sun.
If there are none, make them yourself - just pull up a large awning. Also, be sure to discuss the rules of behavior in nature with your children. For example, agree that when the whistle blows, all the children should gather near you. Turn it into a game - whoever runs first wins. Be sure to warn children that they must all be in sight and not go anywhere without an adult. Remember that to ensure maximum safety, there must be one adult for every five children.
Flexible program
Our animators have ready-made interesting scenarios with different characters, but they are ready at any time to adapt to the specifics of your holiday. What do we take into account?
- children can be of different ages, so games are selected that will amuse both 5 and 12 year olds
- the weather may be too hot, then we change too active competitions to more restrained ones
- unexpected rain drives children and animators into a small gazebo, then board games, “Mafia” and “Crocodile” are used
- There are also all kinds of “force majeure”, for which our animators are always ready
If you are running the program yourself, think through all the possible circumstances that could ruin a child's birthday party on the street.
Outdoor Birthday Scenario
It is best to write out the scenario for a children's party in nature in advance. Even if you don’t strictly follow it in terms of time, it will still help you stick to a certain schedule and you will know exactly when it’s time for the kids to eat and when to play.
And any children's holiday in nature should include competitions, and it is better to prepare them in advance.
Remember that two active competitions must alternate with one calm one - to avoid overwork.
- To find out what to give your grandmother for her birthday, sometimes you just need to ask what she would like for herself.
- A wedding ceremony in oriental style should be organized in the warm season, detailed description.
Recipe: Three Wonderful Snacks
The most common thing at a picnic is snacks. There are a great many variations of cooking with different ingredients, but we will look at some of them.
To prepare you will need:
- flour – 200 g;
- olive oil – 200 g;
- salt – 1 teaspoon;
- hot water – 200 ml;
- Provencal herbs;
- lavash – 3 sheets of 30×50 cm;
- Korean carrots – 200 g;
- cheese – 150 g;
- mayonnaise;
- greens (green onions, dill);
- ham – 150 g;
- boiled eggs – 2 pcs;
- Bell pepper;
- sour cream – 2 tbsp. spoons;
- pickled cucumbers – 1 piece;
- buns – 2 pcs;
- salad dressing;
- salt with garlic and herbs.
The ingredients presented will be useful for all three appetizers, so don’t be intimidated by the abundance of ingredients needed!
Cooking method:
- Pour the specified amount of flour into a deep container.
Add salt and olive oil and mix thoroughly. It is important to stir well after adding the liquid ingredients to avoid lumps forming in the flour. Don't ignore this step to avoid cooking mistakes; - Pour in hot water (water temperature is approximately 80 degrees Celsius). Mix again until smooth. The result should be an elastic mass. Roll the resulting result into a bun, pack it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator for the next 30 minutes;
- While the dough is cooling, take the pita bread and coat one side with mayonnaise. Grate the cheese on a medium grater and distribute evenly over the sheet. Cover the top with a clean sheet of lavash, level it, coat it with mayonnaise and lay out the carrots. Cover with a third sheet, coat with mayonnaise and lay out the greens. Sprinkle salad dressing on top. Roll the resulting cake into a tube, wrap it in cling film and leave for 30 minutes;
- Next, we cut the following ingredients: ham, green onions, dill, boiled eggs, pickled cucumbers, sweet peppers. You can choose the cutting method at your discretion, the main thing is that the pieces are small. After cutting, pour all the ingredients together, add sour cream and sprinkle with a mixture of peppers or salt with garlic and herbs. Mix everything well;
- Preparing the buns. You need to cut a little above the middle to get the flesh out. The cut “lid” cannot be cut off completely. You need to fill the cavity of the bun with the previously prepared mixture of ingredients and the first snack will be ready;
- Let's return to the test. Cut off about half, roll into a bun and roll it out with a rolling pin. Cut the rolled out dough into thin strips, which we roll slightly so that they look like spirals. Place them on a baking sheet, lightly moisten them with water and sprinkle with Provençal herbs. Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees. Baked spirals can be placed on a saucer;
- We unwrap the prepared lavash roll, cut it in half into small portions and can serve as the dish is ready.
It is better to cut the roll at the picnic, since it is much more convenient to carry in this form. In addition, the products will not dry out.
The same Alice
A great option for a party with older children. Have a fun tea party under a tree. Have guests dress up in fancy costumes and go on a wild ride.
Dial City Adimari
The book is a bestseller of 2021
Post-apocalyptic novel “Dial. City of Adimari" will plunge into the universe of bloodthirsty Kumo demons, immortal Lyonites and metal werewolves. When the familiar world collapses, the main thing is not to lose faith in yourself...
There can be all kinds of charades and riddles as competitions. Set up a maze for guests to find the White Rabbit. The holiday will also be an occasion to teach children how to tell time! Bring a large clock and ask the children to turn the hands at the time you call.
And when your guests are tired and want a snack, give them delicious tea and cake. But at the same time, every three minutes they change to their neighbor’s place!
Such a holiday will remain in the memory of both children and adults.
How to design a site
Wherever the holiday is held, a prerequisite at the preparation stage is to decorate the site. Balloons and paper garlands are always appropriate. In addition, the decoration elements must correspond to the chosen theme.
You can hang decorations on the site in advance, before the main participants of the event appear. In some cases (if there is little decoration and it is simple), the option works great when the site is decorated collectively by all participants of the event immediately before the holiday.
Game for children - blind walk
This game can be played both outdoors and indoors - simply by varying the scale of the “event”. For this competition we will need some (safe) items to set up the obstacle course - these could be rubber toys with squeaks, sheets of colored cardboard, disposable plastic cups with a little water and a blindfold.
We choose the length of the path for a blind walk, place obstacles and let the kids get to know it all and remember where everything is. Children can be divided into two teams, or they can be left as one team. The participants’ task is to overcome the obstacle course blindfolded as quickly as possible and without “losses.” We release the children one by one. Either the most dexterous one or the team that did it faster wins.
