DIY witch costume for Halloween: patterns, instructions

The fashion of celebrating Halloween came to us from the USA. There it is a massive masquerade that takes place on the streets of the city. In our country, many people loved the idea of celebrating All Saints' Day, but it has not yet gained such widespread popularity. In most cases, young people organize themed parties and dress up in interesting and scary costumes for Halloween. And the most important thing at such a holiday is to match the image as much as possible. You can sew any suit yourself, because this option will not only be original, but will also save money.

Costume ideas

Any image must be associated with evil spirits. It's better for princesses and fairies to attend another holiday. On a day when dark forces awaken and emerge from their sanctuaries, it is better to match this theme. Scary Halloween costumes can depict the following characters: vampire, devil, dead man, ghost, zombie and of course, witch.

An integral symbol of Halloween is the pumpkin. It can be of any shape and size. Holes are cut in the vegetable for the mouth and eyes, the middle is completely removed, and a candle is placed in its place. The costume of this same pumpkin can also be original.

Girls enjoy dressing up as a vampire, a dead nurse or a bloody princess. The couple can pay attention to the pirate and his faithful companion.

Among the general fun there are also positive characters: Van Helsing, Harry Potter and his friends, Jack Sparrow, Terminator, Transformers, Spider-Man and other superheroes, Zorro.

But the most popular image for adult girls, women and little girls is the witch. We will talk further about how to make a witch costume for Halloween with your own hands.

How to choose an image for a witch

A traditional witch is a lady in a beautiful dark dress with a mantle or cape, always with a hat and a broom. But modern fairy tales and films dictate their fashion about what a witch should look like. It is from cinematographic films that you can get ideas. This will help you figure out how to make a witch Halloween costume and what details to pay attention to. Here are examples of the most popular images.

Witch from old fairy tales

Such an old woman seems to us like Baba Yaga on a broom and in a mortar. She has gray hair, a sly look and warts on her face. If you are not afraid that children will be afraid of such an image, then feel free to experiment. In clothes, take a closer look at your grandmother's old cast-offs: a long skirt, an apron, a shirt and a vest on top. Cover yourself with a robe with a hood.

Witch from the forest

She can be good or bad. Add natural elements to your image: leaves, berries. Let them be present on a hat or dress. In the color scheme, stick to green and yellow shades. The main outfit can be dark green or brown; the cape can be made of light, airy materials. A small hat will look original. Pay special attention to your eyes and makeup, whiten your skin and add green or blue shadows.

Charming Gothic

Such a witch never smiles and is very strict. Her dress and all other elements are exclusively black. Her lips are red-scarlet, and her eyes contain a terrifying depth. All accessories are spiders, cobwebs, black cats, crosses. For this look, choose a long black floor-length dress.

Fashionable witch

This is the image of a cheerful, perky witch. She is relaxed and light, sexy and very alluring. For a fashionable witch, a short fluffy dress or skirt is suitable. Don't be limited by colors: it can be a combination of black and pink, purple, light green or green. Such a witch may even have a magic wand instead of a broom. The most daring image for experimentation.

Unapproachable Queen

Imagine the Snow Queen. She is strict, mysterious and unapproachable. She has a chic dress and a high collar. She may not have a hat, but she must have a cold gaze. When choosing a dress, pay attention to the fluffy long skirt, decorated with many folds. Be sure to throw an elegant robe over your shoulders.

What you need to make your own Halloween witch costume

A hand-made suit for a girl or woman will add individuality to the look. In addition, this is a guarantee that there will be no embarrassment at the party with two identical outfits purchased in the same store.

What is a witch costume? Firstly, this is the basis of the costume - a dress or a set of skirt and blouse. The style of the outfit is not decisive. It can be long, short, tight-fitting or relatively loose, tied with a wide belt or corset. The set is also diverse, especially for the skirt. The latter often has a fluffy, narrow, short or elongated style. It all depends on the figure and taste preferences of the hostess herself.

A young witch's skirt should be full and long.

Secondly, what you should pay attention to in a witch costume is the headdress. Most often it is a pointed hat, decorated with a wide variety of decor from flowers and ribbons to imitations of snakes and spiders. Shoes with upturned toes are also welcome. However, they can be replaced with over the knee boots, boots or lace-up boots. Comfortable sandals or shoes are suitable for girls.

As for the color of the suit, the classic is black. However, deep shades of purple, wine, dark green, and even orange are no less popular. The last color is associated with Halloween, so its use in an outfit is quite appropriate. Costumes for girls are more multi-colored and allow tones of pink, pistachio, blue, and even yellow.

You can complement the image of a witch with a broom, a magic wand, a black cane umbrella, gloves, and various themed accessories.

Components of a witch costume

Beautiful evil sorceresses from fairy tales have always attracted people with their mystery. Remember Maleficent too. One look from her was mesmerizing. A beautiful bright costume with a black cape and a long fluffy floor-length skirt - such an unusual outfit can easily be bought in a store, but making a witch costume for Halloween with your own hands is very simple. Let's consider the main components of any such outfit:

  • hat;
  • corset;
  • skirt;
  • cape

The corset and skirt can be combined into a single dress. But without special cutting and sewing skills, you can separate these elements and get an equally amazing result. Let's look at how to make a witch costume at home step by step.

How to make a witch costume with your own hands

If you wish, even at home you can sew a witch costume, which is not much different from the work of a professional costume designer. In case of lack of time and extra funds, it is possible to create an outfit using scrap materials.

Beautiful witch costume

A girl's costume differs from an adult's in a brighter palette. Despite the fact that black is the main color, it can be successfully combined with more delicate shades suitable for a young fashionista.

A fluffy multi-colored skirt, for example, made of tulle, will help make a girl’s costume spectacular and beautiful. At the same time, the rest of the wardrobe should be kept in the usual dark colors. This could be a black turtleneck or T-shirt, tights or leggings of the same color and, of course, a hat. However, the latter can be decorated with ribbons to match the skirt, thus creating a completely harmonious ensemble.

Making a tulle skirt for a witch costume is very simple, you will need:

  • orange and purple tulle;
  • scissors;
  • rubber;
  • dark satin ribbon 5-7 cm wide (black or purple);
  • a base for attaching an elastic band (the back of a chair, a thick book);
  • thread and needle.

Steps:

  1. We cut the tulle into strips 20-22 cm wide. The length of the blanks depends on the size of the finished product. Since each strip will fold in half, you need to multiply this figure by 2.
  2. We take a book as a basis, on which we fasten an elastic band. You can also use the back of a chair or any other convenient object. The size of the elastic is equal to the girl’s waist circumference minus 6 cm.
  3. Fold a piece of tulle in half and secure it with an elastic band.
  4. We tie all the strips of fabric in this way, not forgetting to alternate colors.
  5. We secure the ends of the elastic with a thread and a needle.
  6. We carry out a test fitting and decorate the belt with a wide satin ribbon, which we tie into a bow. The young witch costume is ready.
  7. Additionally, the skirt can be decorated with dark lace and sparkles.

Advice! Considering the splendor and brightness of the lower part, the top of the suit should be as laconic as possible.

You can make a dress for a girl in the same way.

It is better to make a pointed hat from felt

It's impossible to imagine a children's witch costume for Halloween without a pointy hat.

You can make this accessory at home. It is more advisable to use felt as a material. It is quite dense, so it does not require an additional frame for the crown and brim of the hat.

Required:

  • a piece of black felt;
  • needles and thread;
  • thick paper and pencil;
  • scissors;
  • sewing centimeter.

Steps:

  1. First you need to measure the circumference of the girl’s head and determine the height of the cap. You also need to estimate the width of the fields. Having found out all the measurements, you can transfer the pattern to paper. The crown is presented in the form of a cone, where the base is the circumference of the head plus an additional 1.5-2 cm for allowance, and the brim is a semicircle with a given width.
  2. Next, we transfer the pattern to the fabric and cut out the details. In this case, we apply the margins to the fold of the material (the fabric is folded in half), thus cutting out a complete circle from the felt at once. It is necessary to cut out 2 identical parts into the fields.
  3. Then everything is simple: we sew the cone along the side seam and turn it inside out. If necessary, you can iron the seam, but this is not necessary.
  4. Then we sew the brim of the hat together to make this part more dense and textured.
  5. And we sew the fields to the cone.

As for the decor, a hat for a girl is usually decorated with bright ribbons to match the skirt, translucent mesh, and brooches in the form of spiders, skulls or bats.

The adult version is often decorated with a short veil, however, this detail should not be sewn onto a child’s witch’s hat, as it will most likely bother the girl.

You can use artificial web. It looks great with the whole outfit. Elements of lacing, black sparkles and rhinestones, and themed decorations in the shape of a pumpkin are also welcome.

DIY witch costume from scrap materials

If you are short on time, you can transform yourself without much effort using available tools. For example, you can make an adult witch costume with your own hands using black garbage bags as a basis. The principle of creating a skirt from this material is the same as that of the children's tulle variety. However, it is worth noting that despite the minimal costs, the final result will look no worse.

If you don't have enough time, you can make an outfit out of black garbage bags

The details make the image, so if it is not possible to create a full-fledged witch costume for a girl for Halloween, the emphasis needs to be shifted to accessories.

A broom is an indispensable attribute of the witch’s profession and an important element of a witch’s costume. You can make it at home from what grows literally under your feet.

Required:

  • high grass;
  • thick and relatively straight branch;
  • twine;
  • spray can with black paint.

Steps:

  1. Find a branch of suitable thickness and paint it black.
  2. Cut tall grass, form a large bunch and secure it with twine on a branch pole.
  3. Paint the broom black.

Advice! In addition to grass, thin dry twigs can be used to create a broom.

A broom can be made from grass painted black and straight branches.

If desired, the witch’s “transport” can be decorated with artificial cobwebs or decorative ribbons.

Hat

What does a witch's hat look like? That's right, it's sharp-angled with wide brims. If you don’t have a suitable one at home, you can easily cut it out and make it. What you will need for this:

  • white and brown cardboard;
  • ribbons or any other decorations for a hat (you can make spiders from black paper);
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • needle and thread.

Instead of a paper hat, you can make a fabric one. Felt is ideal for this purpose. It doesn't fray, holds its shape well and is easy to use. In addition, various decorations are better attached to such fabric.

A quick way to make a witch costume

If you don’t have time to painstakingly create your look, you can quickly transform yourself without putting in much effort.

  • The easiest way is to choose dark, gloomy clothes that a real witch from a fairy tale might wear. Preference should be given to non-standard dresses and sweaters, for example, an old-fashioned item from your grandmother’s wardrobe. You can add details in the form of spiders and bats cut out of cardboard or fabric, sewn or glued to the costume.

The main attribute of a witch is her broom. If you don’t have a suitable one, and you don’t have time to make a new one, then you can replace it with a magic wand, which can often be found in old toys. Also, the broom is simply replaced with an umbrella of a suitable color or a cane.

  • The only identifying sign of belonging to the dark side may be a pointed hat. Paired with an elegant dress, it will be enough to not stand out from the crowd of the undead. It’s easy to make in about 15 minutes if you have the right materials at home.

Creating an image largely depends on makeup. A slight pallor will add mystery, and green skin, painted with makeup, will surprise everyone at the party. There are many examples of unusual makeup.

Making yourself a real villain with your own hands will be an exciting activity. Whether the image will be attractive or creepy and frightening is up to the future witch to decide.

Instructions for making a hat

  1. The first step is to cut out a circle with a hole in the middle from white cardboard. The diameter of the hole should be equal to the circumference of the head.
  2. Then you need to transfer the size of the circle onto brown cardboard. The outlines are drawn in pencil, but the hole is not completely cut out. Instead, triangular cuts are made in it along the entire diameter and folded over. They will become the basis for attaching the cone.
  3. The cone is made like this. Brown cardboard must be folded like a bag for seeds. The bottom edge needs to be aligned and cut to the same length. The diameter of the base of the cone should be equal to the inner circumference of the hat brim.
  4. Then you need to put the cone on the triangles and glue them well.
  5. Then decorate the hat with a ribbon, securing it with a needle and thread. Any other elements can be used as decoration: stars, rhinestones, fabric spiders.

The hat can be any size. Little princesses will be happy to wear a neat hat on a hairpin or headband. If you don’t want to wear a bulky accessory, you can experiment with other head decorations. For example, a headband made of bats will do.

Find a stencil online or draw the silhouette of a bat yourself. Transfer it to black cardstock and cut it out. Try to make the mice different in size to make the composition look more lively. Bend each piece in half to create the impression of a fluttering mouse. Make two holes in the center through which fasten the wire. Tie the other end of the rod to the rim. Put it on your head and amaze everyone with how wonderful you managed to sew a witch costume.

Headdress

Most often, a witch's headdress is a pointed hat with a brim. You can make such a headdress with your own hands from cardboard. You need to cut out two parts - the cone and the brim of the future hat. To connect the parts together, the cone is bent outward along the wide edge and cuts are made on the bent part at intervals of 1 cm. The parts should be glued together and, after the glue has dried, painted black or purple.

All that remains is to decorate our hat. You can paint stars on the cap with gold or silver paint, and “plant” spiders on the margins, of course, not real ones, but plastic ones. You can decorate the brim of your hat with a wreath of autumn leaves by weaving small plastic pumpkins into it.

If you plan to have a beautiful hairstyle, then, of course, you shouldn’t hide your hair under such a hat. In this case, you can make a very small hat and glue it to a hairpin or hairpin. Such an accessory will only decorate your hairstyle.

If you want to be original, then instead of a hat, you can make a headdress with horns, like Maleficent. The base of the figured horns can be made of cardboard or foil, which will need to be tightly wrapped with black electrical tape. It is convenient to glue the horns to a wide hairband.

Corset

In order to sew the simplest version of clothing, you don’t need a witch costume pattern. Any black blouse, T-shirt or bodysuit can serve as a top for a dress.

The version presented above uses a long black floor-length dress as the main element. Surely this can be found in any lady’s wardrobe. If you are not sure that black suits you, give preference to other shades, such as purple or gray. In general, when going to Halloween, don’t think about which color scheme should dominate. Only your imagination should work here.

To make the look authentic, decorate your top with some symbolic elements: rhinestones, stars, beads. Place a raven or a black cat on your shoulder.

Accessories

When creating a costume, accessories play a big role. If the image of an elegant witch is created, then the costume should be complemented with jewelry - multi-tiered beads, bracelets, massive rings. You can make these decorations yourself using Halloween themes (pumpkins, spiders, skulls, rats, etc.)

A decent witch does not leave the house without a means of transportation - a broom. This “vehicle” can be made from an ordinary broom and a mop shaft. It's very easy to make. You need to attach the broom to the shaft with a wire, and then put a cardboard “cap” on the broom to hide the attachment point.

Instead of a broom, you can make a “magic staff” as an accessory. To do this, a piece of a mop shaft can be wrapped with satin ribbons, strips of fabric or colored paper. You can decorate the accessory to your own taste.

If you don’t want to carry a rather massive staff or broom with you, then instead of these items, you can make a “magic” wand. You can hang it on a ribbon from your belt to keep your hands free.

So, creating a witch costume yourself is not at all difficult. You can do without buying expensive fabrics and accessories, and make do with what you found in the pantry. A little imagination - and junk items can turn into an excellent carnival costume.

Skirt

A witch costume (adult) involves the use of a long, floor-length skirt. If you don’t have one, borrow one from your grandmother or a relative you know. You can also buy it, but you are unlikely to ever wear it again.

There can be a lot of options for designing a skirt. In order for a witch costume for Halloween, created with your own hands, to be original, do not be afraid to show your imagination. If you don't have a long skirt, take a short one. Or perhaps you even have a dress, then that’s fine too. Cut a rectangle from transparent black fabric, the length of the floor, and its width should be twice the circumference of your hips. Make folds with your hands and secure them with a needle and thread. Stretch a long ribbon and tie it at your waist. The skirt is ready!

Tips from needlewomen

Most needlewomen recommend starting to prepare and create your own witch outfit for Halloween a month before the holiday. However, if you are sorely short of time and there is no time to sew a suit, successful accessories will be the solution.

Tights will help draw attention away from your skirt and dress. A bright purple or cheerful orange and black option will fit perfectly into the image of a witch of any age. Boots with curved toes will also be a good accent. Don't be shy about using brooches, ribbons and lace.

A great alternative to a needle and thread is a glue gun. You can “plant” any decorations on hot glue, and use it to connect parts made of cardboard, plastic and fabric. So, with the help of glue you can literally “assemble” a witch’s hat in 10-15 minutes. It can also be used to make a broom and other accessories for a witch costume.

Attention should be paid to shoes. You can not only paint old shoes in a suitable color, but also decorate them with sparkles. Masking tape or plaster bandages will help you create bent noses. True, in this case you will have to tinker a little.

Curled toes in old shoes can be created using plaster bandages and masking tape.

Children's full skirt for Halloween

Some of our little ones also want to wear a witch costume. The children's version is practically no different from the adult version. All the same elements, the same materials. Let's look at how to make a full skirt for a holiday, using a specific example.

A Halloween witch costume for girls involves the use of the following materials and tools:

  • dark colored bodysuit;
  • organza ribbons of two shades (they can be different, in our example we use black and light green);
  • scissors;
  • rubber bands.

The first step is to measure your waist circumference. It should be noted that this skirt is suitable for both adults and children. The time to make it is half an hour.

Next, you need to cut strips from the tape. You need to calculate the length like this. First, determine your desired skirt length. Let's say for a child it will be 50 cm. Multiply this figure by two and add 2 cm. Total - 102 cm. Cut a lot of these strips.

Start attaching the strips to the elastic bands, following the pattern shown in the photo below.

Fold the ribbon in half and thread it through the elastic. Alternating colors, secure all the ribbons. You will see how they puff up. That is why dense materials are best suited for such purposes: organza or tulle.

That's it, the skirt is ready!

Cape

A DIY witch costume for Halloween would be incomplete without a cape or cloak. The easiest option is to borrow it from any nearby costume rental. But we are creating an original image. This means that our sweet lady will wear a witch costume made from scrap materials.

What are we looking for? For a cape or cloak we will need any dark material available in the house. It could be a scarf, a husband's T-shirt, an old raincoat, anything. Perhaps you have a beautiful openwork scarf in a dark color. Then the question of the cape is resolved. You will try on the image of a vintage dark seductress.

Now we offer you one unusual version of the web cape. To create it, find something black. You can use an old skirt or T-shirt. The size of the material will depend on how long you want the cape. Count on it to at least cover your shoulders.

Fold the material in half, and then in half again, as shown in the picture. Start making the pattern from the edge where the folds are. Measure the circumference of your head. Divide the resulting number by 2. Set this length plus 2 cm from the edge of the fabric and mark it. From the second corner, make a second one. Connect the dots in a semicircle.

Set aside the length of the cape in a horizontal direction from the beginning of the folded edge. The length of the arms will be approximately 70 cm in one direction. Measure from the neckline point. Cut out a semicircle. You should end up with a pattern similar to a circle skirt.

Any mantle will have a similar shape. Find a pattern for an ordinary circle skirt on the Internet, replace the waist with a neckline - and the mantle is ready. If necessary, you can sew on a hood. To do this, cut out two semicircular parts, sew them in a straight line and attach them to the neckline from the back.

Let's start creating the web for our example.

Using chalk, draw vertical stripes on the fabric from the neckline downwards. This will help maintain proportions. Cut out the bottom. Draw each segment of the web in a horizontal direction. Using sharp scissors or a utility knife, cut out the marked holes.

If the fabric frays, tuck the edges. For any robe, try to use light and thin fabrics that will not weigh down the look. The Halloween witch costume and decorative element are ready!

A magic broom requires a good reaction, a sense of gravity and lifting force, and a good run-up - after all, the speed of its takeoff from the ground is at least one and a half times higher than that of a simple jump.

When flying on a broom, there are limits to its application; they are mainly determined by weather conditions and the status of the witch. Flying a broomstick in difficult weather conditions requires more magical experience. The witch must feel her broom well and control it, be able to quickly navigate without losing course and flight altitude. Flights to new places should only be carried out using magic maps. To start flying on a broom, first of all, you need a broom itself. For the broom to know you, you need to make it yourself.

An ordinary broom bought at the market and made by someone else is not suitable for flying.

The optimal material for a witch's broom is birch branches. Every real witch has in her arsenal a reliable and high-quality broom for flying.

A broom with an uncomfortable handle and an uncomfortable grip will result in your back hurting all the time and your arms getting tired very quickly during the flight. Today there is a very huge selection of models of brooms for flying that can be successfully used in witchcraft.

Your flying tool should be a quality broom that is made exclusively from natural and environmentally friendly materials.

You must do your witchcraft work with your soul.

For a witch, each new broom is not only an object for flight, it is practically an animated result of magical work into which she invests part of her soul.

In order to make a high-quality broom for flying, the witch carefully prepares all its components, carefully arranges birch twigs and cuts comfortable holders from high-quality tree branches.

Such a sincere attitude towards her work allows the witch to carry out her work with the utmost quality, without fear that the broom will later let her down in flight. To collect twigs for your magic broom, go to the birch grove. You should not use a lonely birch tree, because... the broom will be weak. Take with you colored ribbons and scraps, as well as threads and colored beads. The time for making a broom is from the beginning of the movement of juices until the Kupala holidays on any full moon. The optimal day is when there is a daytime moon. When you arrive at the grove, say hello and tell them why you came. Then start walking around the birch trees, asking them for twigs for your broom.

Branches should be broken by hand, not cut. Instead of each broken branch, tie it to

a piece of wood, a ribbon, or a bead on a string is the penalty you pay

. Select branches from identical birches - either only from curly ones, or only from

weeping. You shouldn’t break branches “with reserve” - estimate how long the rods are for you

needed for a magical tool. It’s hardly worth trying to reproduce a janitor’s broom—you simply won’t need one that big—it’s too heavy to fly.

Tie the assembled rods tightly with linen twine, wrapping them several times, and place them on a pre-prepared handle. A broom stick is often cut from rowan. Before work, the tool should be treated with magic. There is literally no point in sweeping the floors with this broom. It is enough to symbolically sweep the already tidied room, after sprinkling it with cemetery water. With the same tool you can “sweep away” the traces of an unwanted person so that he does not appear in your house again.

In order for the broom to fly, it must be soaked for three days in an infusion of fern roots collected on Ivan Kupala. Six large roots per bucket of boiling water and a broom is soaked in there, which draws in the magical power of this ancient plant. The first flight must be made on Walpurgis Night (May 1) together with an experienced witch. Before the flight, you need to go to the top of the hill at midnight, light a fire (later it will help you not get lost in the night sky) and take off your clothes and saddle your broom. Say the spell in ancient Latin: “Si licet parva componere magnis - Si gravis brevis, si longus levis - Tempora si fuerint nubila, solus eris - Si ferrum non sanat, ignis sanat - Si medicamenta non sanant, ferrum sanat, si ferrum non sanat, ignis sanat - Si NULLus erit, tamen excute NULLum”, which loosely translated means: “If you can compare the small with the great, if it is painful, it will not last, if it is long, then it will not be painful, if dark times come, you will remain alone if iron does not cure, fire cures, if medicine does not cure, iron heals, if iron does not cure, fire cures, now you are like a little speck of dust, blow and fly.”

After this, you will feel incredible lightness throughout your whole body - grab the broom tightly and take off... On the first night, do not fly far from the fire, otherwise you will get lost and rise too high - it’s cold there

Additional accessories

We figured out how to make a witch costume for Halloween. The hat is ready, the skirt is in place, the top is selected. There's even a cape. But that is not all. You need additional accessories to complete the look. What are these elements?

  1. Tights. If the event is held indoors, then, naturally, you need to wear thin ones. It is better to wear black tights with a pattern under a short skirt. Choose an original ornament or mesh. For an event taking place outside, it is better to choose a warmer option; after all, it is the end of October. Opt for striped leggings.
  2. Shoes. It could be shoes or boots, it doesn’t matter at all. Choose a platform that will make it convenient for you to dance and have fun until the morning.
  3. Earrings. Bright, eye-catching jewelry is what you need. Halloween is that holiday where you can't have too much of everything. Feel free to choose earrings with large stones, in the form of a cobweb or a black cat.
  4. Rings, brooches, necklaces. Everything should be thematically stylized. Take the time to go shopping and pick up accessories for your witch costume.
  5. Handbag. Of course, a small classic clutch will look best. Brave girls can successfully replace it with a bowler hat. By analogy with a hat, you can make a bowler yourself from cardboard and cover it with dark fabric. A little advice: you shouldn’t store your mobile phone or wallet in it.
  6. Broom. Well, what is a witch without a broom? It can be small, in the form of a brooch, or large, such that you can hold it in your hand. A broom is a must!

Shoes

Shoes must be selected in accordance with the chosen image. So, if you are creating an attractive sexy character, then you can wear any suitable high-heeled shoes. But shoes with sharp, upturned toes will look more interesting. Any old pumps that you no longer plan to wear are suitable for making them.

The original toe of the shoes can be made from foil or papier-mâché. It is glued to the front of the shoes. And then the entire surface of the shoe is covered with paper (you can even use newspapers).

It's backwards to just paint the shoes and decorate them. You can use glitter, make large shaped buckles from foil or cardboard, or put plastic spiders or mice on the surface of the shoes.

Stockings for a witch costume can be striped or black, fishnet. If a scary image is created, then the stockings can be deliberately torn, and instead of beautiful shoes, wear old slippers.

How to make a broom

If you live in a region where there is still no snow at the end of October, then you are very lucky. Go to the nearest park and collect a lot of small twigs. Gather them into a bun, attach a thicker long stick to them and you're done!

Dry grass can be used instead of branches. It will also look no worse, and most importantly, it will be safer.

You can make a small broom. It is used to decorate an outfit or a festive table. For needlework you will need: bamboo skewer, rope threads, thin threads, scissors.

Cut the flagella at least 7 cm long. Make a small bunch, insert a skewer into it and tighten on one side with a thin thread. Unscrew the threads and tighten them again at the base. The broom is ready.

Making your own Halloween witch costume is very easy. If you don't have sewing skills or talent, use simple materials, ready-made skirts and T-shirts. After all, the most important thing in preparing an image is to decorate things correctly and apply makeup. Don't forget about the basic elements of any witch's image: a hat, a robe and a broom.
