Barbie themed party: perfection in every detail

I would like to share my experience of hosting my daughter's birthday. By the age of eight, she was already a spoiled person in terms of variety of birthdays. Behind me were the holidays “All evening in the arena”, and “In the company of Winnie the Pooh and his friends”, and “Adventures in the Emerald City”... Each time I tried to use the child’s current interest as an idea.

And now it’s time to become seriously interested in Barbie dolls (few girls at a tender age can indifferently pass by these long-legged beauties. Well, Barbie, so Barbie.

I’ll say right away that the holiday was prepared under time pressure. And one more thing... Only girls were invited to the birthday party, although if boys had appeared, we would have found something to entertain them with.

While everyone was catching up, those who came were offered coloring books, guess what theme (I printed out a bunch of pictures from the Internet). Then a Barbie gallery was compiled from these pictures.

When the people gathered, we found out “ What are we doing, how to entertain the guests”) - slightly modified to take into account the age.

Then the Barbie competitions began

Competition "Barbie the Artist"

All girls are invited to participate in impromptu theater. Distribute roles (animate and inanimate: kitten, magpies, piece of paper, wind, porch, sun, etc.). If time allows, you can rehearse.

Sketch text

(the presenter reads, the participating actors imitate)

“Today the kitten left the house for the first time. It was a warm summer morning, the sun was spreading its rays in all directions. The kitten sat down on the porch and began to squint in the sun. Suddenly his attention was attracted by two magpies that flew in and sat on the fence. The kitten slowly crawled off the porch and began to sneak up on the birds. The magpies chirped incessantly. The kitten jumped high, but the magpies flew away. It didn't work out.

The kitten began to look around in search of new adventures. A light breeze blew and blew a piece of paper along the ground. The paper rustled loudly. The kitten grabbed her, scratched her a little, bit her and, not finding anything interesting in her, let her go. The piece of paper flew away, blown by the wind.

And then the kitten saw a rooster. Raising his legs high, he walked importantly through the yard. Then he stopped, flapped his wings and sang his sonorous song. Chickens rushed to the rooster from all sides. Without thinking twice, the kitten rushed into the flock and grabbed one hen by the tail. But she pecked the kitten so painfully that he screamed a heart-rending cry and ran back to the porch.

Here a new danger awaited him. The neighbor's puppy, falling on its front paws, barked loudly at the kitten, and then tried to bite it. The kitten hissed loudly in response, released its claws and hit the dog on the nose. The puppy ran away, whining pitifully.

The kitten felt like a winner. He began to lick the wound caused by the chicken. Then he scratched his hind paw behind his ear, stretched out on the porch at his full height and fell asleep. We don’t know what he was dreaming about, but for some reason he kept twitching his paw and moving his mustache in his sleep. Thus ended the kitten’s first acquaintance with the street.”

Setting the table

We also can’t do without pink when setting the table: it can be either the main color or complement the overall picture.

We complement the selected color scheme of the table with sparkles and stones - this way our festive table will look even more elegant and solemn.

Also, large flowers made of corrugated paper in the middle of the table, which are made according to the same principle as paper pompoms, will add an original touch.

To make a fluffy table skirt, we gather fabric or paper around the perimeter and attach it to the edge of the table with tape.

It’s easy to decorate the cups with glitter yourself: grease the bottom of the cup with glue, and then lower it into a container with dry glitter, let the glue dry and shake off the excess glitter.

Disposable cups can simply be decorated with a paper profile of Barbie.

We decorate drinking straws with the same profile. And if you decide to play a little trick on the guests, put paper sponges on the straws.

Cutlery also needs decoration - we glue stones onto pink forks and spoons.

Competition "Charming Barbie"

(task cards will be required)

The presenter lays out cards on the table. The girls choose the task card themselves. Contestants must take turns smiling as follows:

  • Mona Lisa;
  • a girl to an unknown boy;
  • girl from the pantyhose ad;
  • teacher to student;
  • baby - parents;
  • a poor student who received an A;
  • Leopold - to mice;
  • fifth grader - high school student;
  • dog - owner;
  • prosecutor - to the convicted person.

Dressing up the birthday girl and guests

At a doll-themed party, the hero of the occasion should look like a doll. Therefore, we choose a fluffy dress in pink tones for the girl, or we put together an image from a fluffy tulle skirt and a T-shirt with a picture of Barbie.

And to make the guests look in holiday style, we offer them paper crowns with sparkles, beads, bracelets, and hairpins.

Competition "Barbie the Erudite"

Girls are asked to answer the questions:

  • What happens to the crow when she turns 7 years old? (The 8th will go).
  • Why do village kids walk barefoot? (On the ground).
  • Two people were walking and talking. “She’s white,” says one. “No, black,” says another. “I also have a red one,” says the first one. What are we talking about? (About currants).
  • Can an ostrich call itself a bird? (No, because he can't speak).
  • What can you easily pick up from the ground, but cannot throw far? (Pooh).
  • How many peas can fit into one glass? (Not a single one - everything must be put down).
  • What comb can you use to comb your head? (Petushin).
  • What can you cook but can't eat? (Lessons).
  • How many months in a year have 28 days? (All months).
  • What will happen to the green cliff if it falls into the Red Sea? (It will become wet).
  • What could be bigger than an elephant and at the same time weightless? (Shadow of an elephant).
  • What are all the people on earth doing at the same time? (Getting older).
  • Which becomes larger when placed upside down (Number 6).
  • How to jump from a ten-meter ladder without hurting yourself? (You have to jump from the bottom step).
  • What has no length, depth, width, height, but can be measured? (Time, temperature).
  • Which hand is better to stir tea? (It is better to stir the tea with a spoon).
  • When can the net pull out water? (When the water freezes).
  • What question cannot be answered with “yes”? (Are you sleeping now?).
  • What question cannot be answered with “no”? (You are alive?).

Making invitations

We make postcards from white or pink cardboard. It can be either just a pink card or complemented with figures of butterflies and a profile of Barbie made of black cardboard. We also decorate the invitations with thin ribbons, beads, and rhinestones.

Invitations in the shape of the Barbie doll itself, or rather in the shape of its profile, will have a more original look.

Another option for doll cards is invitations in the shape of a dress, lipstick, or shoe.

Hairstyle

A blonde girl will be indistinguishable from Barbie, but who said that dolls can't be dark-haired? To create a doll hairstyle for a bachelorette party, voluminous curls, high ponytails, and backcombing are suitable. Wigs of various colors will look bold, original, and in the style of a party dedicated to Barbie, beloved by millions; pink would be ideal here.

The appearance of the bride and her bridesmaids should reflect childhood and favorite dolls, so do not be afraid of bright colors, as well as excess decor. Use hairpins, feathers, tiaras and hats; you can also sew a veil from chiffon, decorated with rhinestones, sparkles, and bows.

Properly selected suits will help complete the look for a bachelorette party. A Barbie-style wardrobe necessarily contains T-shirts that are painted or embroidered with beads and sequins. It’s easy to complement them: it’s good to use multi-colored tops, fluffy skirts, white or colored stockings, high-heeled shoes, fur boas, and bright leather handbags. Even if there are no bright elements for the costume, you can quickly sew a fluffy skirt from organza fabric and a piece of elastic, and your Barbie-style outfit is ready.

Entertainment

Returning to the topic of movie stars: you can make your bachelorette party unforgettable by making a real movie. Hire a professional cameraman and let him accompany you throughout the holiday, and then edit a film based on The Great Gatsby.

Behave naturally, do not pay attention to the camera - then the mini-film will turn out to be more emotional and sincere. The memory captured on video is priceless.

Organize a professional photo shoot. Such young and beautiful ladies in beautiful outfits simply have to shine in the pictures. Since the bachelorette party is in the Gatsby style, it is strictly necessary to take photos in a stylized interior. Preferably with a vintage car - discuss possible options with the photographer in advance.

Let the bachelorette party be accompanied by tracks from the movie of the same name. Or organize live music. A jazz orchestra will convey the atmosphere of the Gatsby era. Dance and have fun to the melodies of a hundred years ago, it's so romantic!

In the 20-30s of the last century, entertainment such as playing poker or roulette for dollars was popular. You can reproduce these glorious traditions, just warn your friends in advance in case someone doesn’t know the rules.

The Gatsby party program is already rich and beautiful, but you can supplement it with competitions and jokes. For example, have guests share memories and funny stories about the bride. Each can write their story on paper, and then take turns reading the resulting chronicle.

Organize a book of wishes - let the bride's friends write down their instructions, valuable advice, good wishes, or simply share funny stories related to the hero of the occasion.

Say goodbye to your past single life and let your friends join the process. Write down on pieces of paper what you would like to forget or change in your life. Read it out loud, then burn it and spray it in the wind. At future gatherings together, you will remember more than once the moments of a great party.

A bachelorette party in the style of “The Great Gatsby” is a luxurious party for those who love gloss and perfection in everything. By the way, they can also have a Chicago-style bachelorette party.

An interesting event filled with the atmosphere of America in the first half of the last century - a worthy prelude to your wedding.

Photos from the holiday will turn out to be unusual, colorful and chic. This is a gift not only for you, but also for your friends.

Menu

For get-togethers with friends at home, you can order food delivered to your home, but it will be better if the bride prepares the appropriate dishes herself. Even if some girls are on a diet, fun competitions and midnight conversations will whet the appetite, so you need to think it through carefully.

As a main dish served at the beginning of the evening before games and conversations, you can make fried meat, fish or poultry with a side dish of potatoes, rice or vegetable stew. Salads, on the contrary, should be light, preferably entirely vegetable. In addition to this, you can prepare sandwiches and tartlets with sausage, fish or caviar.

Particular attention is paid to desserts - these may include cookies, waffles, muffins, cakes, ice cream and other similar dishes, mostly homemade. In addition to this, you can brew tea or cocoa, and you can also buy juice or make a milkshake or homemade fruit drink

From alcohol, it is better to choose wine or champagne; you can make cocktails, but it is better to avoid strong drinks in their pure form.

Organizing a candy bar

The decoration of the sweet table is also dominated by pink, complemented by details in black and white. We decorate the background of the candy bar with an image of the doll’s profile, and the table itself can be decorated with doll figures made of paper, cardboard, or Barbie dolls themselves. You can also use various doll accessories - shoes, handbags - as table decor.

The candy bar will be decorated with themed toppers.

A chocolate fountain will diversify the festive sweet table and add a touch of originality. This is not so uncommon at modern holidays, but the fountain at our holiday will be different in that the chocolate will be pink. And in order for it to turn out like this, you need to take white chocolate and add a little coloring to it.

We also decorate the sweets to match our theme - we serve the marshmallows on a wooden skewer, complemented by a skirt made from a paper muffin tin.

We also decorate the cupcakes themselves with creative toppers in the form of dresses.

You can also make edible sweet nail polish from marshmallows, or rather, a bottle of polish. To do this, wet the marshmallows with water, dip them in pink-tinted sugar and attach the toffee cap using a toothpick.

Cupcakes with pink cream and glitter sprinkles will also look cute. You can also serve pink lollipops and waffles as treats.

The sweet table will be decorated with delicious gingerbread cookies, painted in the theme of the celebration.

Since almost everything at our holiday is pink, we also prepare pink drinks. A great option is pink lemonade. In fact, this is ordinary lemonade, which has been tinted with dye. But it’s our children’s birthday, which means using artificial colors is highly undesirable. Lemonade can be tinted with raspberry syrup or cranberry juice.

And we put stickers with Barbie pictures on water bottles.

Photo zone and photo props

An easy way to get bright photos is to make photo props. With hairstyles, crowns, and paper bags, the girls in the photo will look unusual and fun.

The photo zone requires more extensive preparation. An interesting idea for a doll-style photo zone is a large box for dolls. Dad can make such a box, but as a basis you can take a box from under large household appliances, for example, from under a refrigerator. Dad's part of the job is to cut the hole, but Mom can do the painting and decorating.

Another unusual option is frames decorated with pink tulle in a holiday theme.

Well, the brightest version of the photo zone is a wall with large paper flowers.

Show for a holiday in the style of a doll

An excellent addition to the event will be shows for children:

— Paper show, with golden confetti

— A golden painting where the birthday girl receives her portrait made of gold sparkles at the end of the show

— A new show of soap bubbles in the dark and using a laser machine

— Colored foam show, with the construction of a castle

— Light painting show

— Magician performance with animals

— Scientific cryo show with dry ice

— Children's disco

— Children's bartender show with a master class on creating a cocktail

What to wear?

You need to dress appropriately for the Sabbath, so different variations of witch costumes are suitable. The colors of the robe are black, red, blue, marsh. A long dark dress will perfectly reflect the style of a bachelorette party, but the option of creating the image of a sexy witch is possible. The fabrics may be torn, frayed, and the color or texture of the bride’s outfit may be different from the rest.

As for headdresses, pointed hats are suitable for the Sabbath, and carnival masks can hide the face. The image of the queen of the celebration will be complemented by an unusual black tiara. A broom is the perfect accessory for a witch's outfit.

In addition to witches, other types of magical creatures may be present at the bachelorette party - features with horns and tails, magical forest fairies, black-winged angels.

Graduation in kindergarten or school style doll

If you want to hold a graduation ceremony on this topic, then first discuss the question of whether all children will be interested in this format. Perhaps you have a lot of boys in your group who are not at all interested in these characters. In this case, it is better to invite more versatile heroes or make a “mix”. You can invite these dolls and a character from the boys' favorite cartoons. You can come up with an interesting program of “mixed up cartoons”, where the characters must remember their stories and return to their cartoon.

If your group is mostly girls, then feel free to invite the dolls to your prom. You can see more ideas and tips for organizing a graduation party in our article:

Basic tips:

— Ask the director for information about what documents need to be prepared.

— Select the person responsible for organizing the graduation.

— Decide on the duration of the holiday. The maximum number of graduation hours is no more than 5.

— Make an exact timing for graduation. Below we have provided a version of the standard option.

— Find out what decorations can be installed in the assembly hall of a kindergarten or school

— Decide how long it will take to install and dismantle the decorations.

— Make a schedule for children’s performances with the group teacher. The duration of performances can be from 30 to 90 minutes.

— Think over the lunch menu. Prepare a few simple meals that all children enjoy. These can be sandwiches, mini burgers, potatoes in different variations, chicken kebabs or cutlets, tartlets, vegetables and fruits in cups.

— Hand hygiene during lunch. It is important to organize a convenient way to eat. Many children will have dirty hands, so it is important that food is packaged correctly. If possible, organize a centralized trip to the water taps or wipe your children's hands with sanitary napkins.

— Discuss photography issues. Write in advance what exactly you expect from the photographer, for example, 3-5 photos of each child from different angles and 20 general photos. This must be stated in the contract. If the requirements are not met, you will have the right to claim a penalty. Also, for insurance, we recommend inviting one of the parents to take photographs. These photos definitely won’t be redundant.

— Discuss video shooting issues. Write the terms of reference for the video operator in advance. It is necessary to cover the following questions: what scenes must be present in the video, from what angles can and should be filmed, what is the duration of the video, are close-ups of children needed. Also, be sure to enter into an agreement with a full list of services.

— Decide on the interactive program and show and discuss the details of the games with the animators.

— Be sure to talk to each performer the day before, check the exact address and start time of the holiday.

Standard Graduation Timing

1 hour meeting guests at the photo zone, creating memorable photos

1 or 1.5 hours of children's performances with different creative numbers

30 minutes lunch break

1 or 1.5 hours interactive program with animators and shows

30 minutes tea party with cake and sweet table

Useful tips

To ensure a successful party, you should listen to the following recommendations.

  1. It’s better not to skimp on the photographer and hire him for at least 1 hour at the very beginning of the bachelorette party.
  2. High-quality photographs will delight everyone, and for a large group it will not cost much. You can take photos on your phone during the rest of the day yourself.
  3. If the venue is outside the city, someone from the company should travel there in advance to know the exact travel time, how to get to the specific location, and what is available in the surrounding area.
  4. The bride should not be warned in advance about the theme of the party so that it becomes a surprise for her. But you should say in advance about denim clothes and comfortable shoes. If friends know for sure that the culprit does not have a checkered shirt at home, they should take on the purchase of it themselves.
  5. The organizer should ask all participants in advance whether they eat meat and drink alcohol.
  6. Cowboy parties traditionally involve the consumption of beer and meat, and if one does not consume these foods, it is necessary to think about alternatives for them.
  7. Be sure to organize cowboy-themed bachelorette party competitions.
